Australian electronic trio, Crooked Colours, have made a triumphant debut, delivering their full length album ‘Vera’ via Australian indie-dance label Sweat It Out. Instantly resonating with fans the world over, ‘Vera’ held the no.1 spot on the Electronic albums chart for three consecutive weeks, whilst achieving a plethora of praise from international media.

After the success of the premier singles from the record, ‘Flow’ and ‘I Hope You Get It’ – both reaching #1 on Hype Machine will full support from Triple J, the acclaimed electronic trio serve up the crowd favourite ‘Come Back To You’. The third single is a perfect summary of the trio’s fine balancing act between the indie and electronic genres. As always, Phil’s sultry vocals are both soothing and atmospheric, yet perfectly imperfect in delivery. ‘Come Back To You’ highlights the maturity in song writing across the LP along with their aptitude for combining lush melody with slick percussion. The ambience is haunting, and provides as a clear demonstration of the unique Crooked Colours sound that is so effortlessly displayed throughout their debut album ‘Vera.’
Hailing from Perth Australia, the trio is made up Phillip Slabber on vocals, Leon De Baughn on keys, and Liam Merrett-Park on drums. Crooked Colours have been compared to varied renowned artists such as Alt-J and Crystal Castles. Launching their career by reaching the coveted No.1 spot on Hype Machine with their first three singles and garnering heavy support on Triple J, the band knew they had something creatively different, so decided to scale back and focus on making an album. Their debut effort ‘Vera’ is the exciting project that was conceived, an exceptional collection of works that showcase both the band’s versatility and musicianship. Crooked Colours will be presenting their eclectic sound on a tour of Australia and Europe in the next coming months.
