Money Over Matter“ is the debut single from Melboune electro / soul / indie pop duo FRANCO.

The song is a bouncy jam full of grimey guitars and spicey synth lines. There is a moral to the story (choosing the things that matter over the the things tha pay you) but it’s really all about the slinky beats and sing-along style of chorus that makes you wish you’d stayed at the party.

The duo FRANCO is less than a year old and is the combination of two friend, Plutonic Lab (award winning producer for artists like Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Guilty Simpson) and vocalist Natalie Slade (better known for her features with Steve Spacek and Space Invadas). Each of their songs have been written between hang sessions resulting in a body of work that is full of infectious hooks and fierce beats.

Info:
Australian award winning producer Plutonic Lab teams up with vocalist Natalie Slade to form the duos new project FRANCO.

The name FRANCO came about from Natalie’s train journeys to and from Leigh’s studio, travelling past the old, weathered Franco Cozzo furniture store sign, just as Leigh texted to say ‘what should we call ourselves?’.

Musically inspired by just about everything, from the great jazz singers, golden era hip hop and slow jams, to artists like Willy Mitchell, Ennio Morricone, J Dilla, John Carpenter, Brian Wilson, Q-Tip, and soul singers like Otis redding, Marvin Gaye, and Curtis Mayfield.

The duo have been steadily writing and recording their debut EP over the last 6 months and are just now starting to share what they’ve been working on.
With a live show consisting of electronics, live drums and vocals, the duo blend strands of R&B, electronic and indie into meaningful and beautifully crafted songs.
