As the acclaimed three-piece Australian outfit Crooked Colours continue their second major US headlining tour, the band today release ‘Do It Like You’ as the second single from their forthcoming LP. A peculiar and experimental follow up to ‘I’ll Be There,’ the new single shows a more inventive side of Crooked Colours as they trade pop chords for mystical cuts.

“‘Do It Like You’ was written on the road whilst we were touring Europe and it was the first track we wrote that really encompassed the sound we were chasing for the second record. Releasing and touring our first album gave us a real sense of what we enjoyed playing live and what made us feel most connected with our crowds. Finding direction was guided so much by the relationships we built with new fans and friends we made and that felt like the perfect fit for the second single to show.”– Phil, Crooked Colours.

‘Do It Like You’ arrives just two months after ‘I’ll Be There’, which the band used to announce their forthcoming record due in 2019. Equally, it was paired with the announcement of the band’s massive US headline tour, which they are currently in the middle of. Crooked Colours have recently graced Toronto,  Montreal, New York, and Suwannee’s Hulaween Festival, as they gear up for a huge shows at LA’s El Rey Theatre, SF’s Great American Music Hall, Chicago’s Lincoln hall and more.

Recently celebrating the first anniversary of their debut album ‘Vera’, Crooked Colours have been humbled by the overwhelming support from fans and industry alike over the last 18 months. 2018 saw the band hit the road with Irish singer EDEN on the UK and Europe legs of his album tour run. The project and new exposure has taken the trio to new heights, with the album hitting #1 on the iTunes Electronic chart and receiving a staggering 50 million collective online streams, which led to extensive touring of Australia, United States, UK and Europe totaling an impressive 83 shows and festivals to date.

Penned during their time on the road, ‘I’ll Be There’ was a perfect re-introduction for the group, taking some of the instrumental timbre which has become synonymous with the Crooked Colours style, whilst injecting layered tribal influenced vocals, hypnotic loops, and driving synths throughout. Now, ‘Do It LIke You’ is its more inspired follow up and prepares fans for the sonic odyssey that the band’s sophomore LP will act as.

Having only toured locally prior to the release of ‘Vera’ it is a huge testament to the band, that in their first overseas ventures throughout 2017/18 they managed to sell out shows in Los Angeles, New York, London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Stockholm only naming a few.

‘Do It Like You’ is out now on Sweat It Out.
